I am a textile designer and creative stumbler with a professional background in fashion design, retail buying and merchandising, and small business development and management.

In 2019 I completed my Master of Science in Textile Design from Thomas Jefferson University, after commuting weekly from my home and kids in Reston, Virginia to Philadelphia, to attend classes and complete studio work.

There, I learned the technical aspects of machine knitting and honed my design skills. I worked on machines from domestic Brother and Passap flatbeds to antique iron Dubieds and learned to program modern industrial CAD knitting powerhouses like Shima and Stoll. In 2019 my collaborative partner and I won the COLLECTION XIIX AWARD for Collaborative Textile Design for Womenswear.

Long before grad school I earned a BA in Fashion Design, and worked as a patternmaker and costume designer for live theatre. Even before that I worked in marketing, retail sales and management, and accessory design.

Currently I do my creative work from my home studio containing eight knitting machines, four sewing machines, an embarrassment of design riches, and numerous distractions. The rest of my time is spent doing weird stuff in my kitchen, spoiling cats, and being a misfit mom in the beautiful Virginia woods.
